Thankyou tv.jw! you are helping my wife wake up!
by stuckinarut2 ini have to thank tv.jw!!!
(im not putting the complete link, but you know what i mean).
after showing my wife the 'trolley song' as we now call it, she was rolling on the floor in embarrassment and shock.. she shook her head, and was clearly troubled by what we watched.. little by little, the org is actually helping more to wake up!

So my dad comes from vacation and ???!!!
by Kool Jo inhello folks.....so in an earlier thread i started, you'd realize that my father and i are quite close, we talk about almost everything/anything.. he traveled outside the country (he's semi-retired), enjoying the fruitage of his hard labor during his younger years.
so he recently returned home after he and mum went away to catchup with some old friends in another country.. upon his returning home, and subsequently to the meetings, he was told that a decision was made to strip him of his "field overseer" role, but will still continue to be an elder.. the reason...he goes away for too long too often...you can't be away from your congregation for three months out of the year!!!???
has anyone else had this experience before?

thank you for posting.
Its just another story of a wrecked life thanks to the hypocracy among the elders who could have done better to protect these children.
an interesting fact: the number of active jws has been decreasing in montreal ( is it talking about just the provence or all of canada?
anyway, thats the sort of "goods news"I like to hear.

New to the forum
by Gone and forgotten infirst i want to say that i really appreciate this forum.
most other places i've seen are nothing but filled with spite and hate.
this site is reasonable and supportive...thank you for that!.

welcome to the forum gone. I'm so glad you have found happiness at last. Enjoy.
As an ex elder I would have blown the others out of the water for not helping you. Then I suppose I would have got "taken off" myself. What a crazy religion. Good luck with the rest of your life.

1st POST: A romance with a JW
by myangelface ini am not a jw ...however i began having bible studies (i d call them watchtower studies).
i was beginning to get lured in and brainwashed into accepting the religion as the true religion...but something inside of me told me there was something odd.
some time passes and i was invited to a meeting and i accepted.

good thing you added the clarification angel. I think that many will now understand.
Its difficult to be clear thinking when you love someone.
However, I think you can see that the replies you have received are pretty conclusive.
I hope you can find the courage to act in your long term interests.Good luck.

If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..
-
jean-luc picard
I have often asked this question and think that i will fly home for the funeral but will not go to the hall.
My sister is still in. I will probably explain to her that I have no intention of going to the hall to be snubed by holier than thow people who couldnt be bothered to go and see my lonely mother while she was still alive.

If you are having problems or lacking joy, then the flow of Holy Spirit in your life is lacking!
by stuckinarut2 inyes, this comment was just made by the speaker today!:.
"if you find that you are lacking in joy or experiencing problems in life, this is evidence that jehovah's spirit is lacking or being blocked in your life".
i sat there thinking "are you kidding me brother?...
-
jean-luc picard
I once heard a speaker say: if you are faithfully serving jehovah and you are having problems, its normal as satan is trying to stumble you. If you are not serving faithfully, its normal you are having troubles because you are not obeying jehovah.
typical damned if you do and damned if you dont. I quite liked the guy, and was really diappointed he came out with that

DEMONS: the torment I suffered
by Terry inwhen i was in my teens i wanted a room of my own, but i lived with my grandparents whose house was very small.. my uncle had been living in a little one room bed-sitter way out in the backyard.
he married and moved away and i moved in.. it was quite isolated and the ceiling was six feet from the floor.
unfortunately, the top of my head was four inches higher than that!

thanks for relating terry. as a young boy I remember praying feverishly, fingers in my ears, until I finally fell asleep through shear exhaustion, because I was afraid of demons.
and to top it all, after bookstudies, etc, those present often related demonic stories over a cup of tea.
wtf did they think they were doing, in front of a young lad of 8 or 9 years old? God, my parents were stupid.

What I ( might ) have done if I was still "in"
by jean-luc picard induring lunch time, our doorbell rang today.
you can guess what my first thought was, but i was wrong.. there was a polite young man ( on his own, not dragging a partner/child around with him), who was trying to.
get people to subscribe to the local regional newspaper for a months free trial.. i smiled to myself when i thought of how a good jw is programmed to reply:.

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae mony a blunder free us.
And would some Power the gift give us
To see ourselves as others see us!
It would from many a blunder free us,
And foolish notion:
